Days 23, 24 & 25 ✂️

First up: my ruffle fabric yoga pants! I made these back in 2010 from fabric I picked up on a trip to San Francisco while visiting my dear friend in Berkeley. Of course, I had to stop at , and the moment I got home these pants were the very first thing I made from that ruffled knit. They’ve been part of my summer wardrobe ever since. 💙

The top is also me-made, featuring lace godets added to the sleeves — a tutorial I shared years ago in Sew News Magazine.

Next up is another sneak peek from the next round of The Quilted Runway 👀 A pair of wide leg bib overalls! This is my wearable muslin version made from IKEA fabric and I’m honestly loving how fun they turned out.

And last is my Brighton Tunic that I designed for the Holiday Capsule Collection for Sew Daily. Layered over thrifted tee + pants for an easy everyday look. You can still grab the pattern there!

Me Made May Day 22 ✨
Today I’m wearing my Coeli Blouse by Pauline Alice Patterns ( ), which I originally made back in October of 2020. The moment I first saw this pattern, I knew I had to make it. It has so many beautiful little details that make it feel extra special.
I’m including a few photos from when I originally made it, along with a line drawing from so you can really see all the fun design details in this blouse. It’s honestly one of my favorite things I’ve ever sewn.
The fabric is a lightweight windowpane lawn, which gives it such a soft drape while still showing off all the structure and details. Today I’m actually wearing it backwards so I could tuck in the top buttons and show off a little necklace stack moment—and I kind of love it styled this way.
One of the best parts of Me Made May is revisiting older makes and remembering why you loved them in the first place. 💛

Day 21 ✂️ Me Made May

Today I’m wearing a sample/wearable muslin of a brand new pattern we’re currently developing over at my “real job” with and 🤍
If you remember, at the end of last year and the beginning of this one, I was completely consumed with working on —a huge creative project and program centered around quilted garments and wearable art.
Well…we’re at it again 😅
Right now we’re deep in the process of designing, testing, tweaking, and fine-tuning the projects that will make up an entirely new 6-piece capsule collection. And if you love quilted garments, layering pieces, cozy vests, and creative wardrobe sewing…you are absolutely going to want to keep your eyes on this one ✂️
This pattern doesn’t officially have a name yet, and the final version will definitely evolve a bit from the sample I’m wearing here, but I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes glimpse into the process because honestly? Watching these ideas slowly come to life is one of my favorite parts of the job and I love the team I get to work with!
There’s something really special about taking an idea from sketch…to muslin…to wearable sample…to a finished pattern that other makers can eventually make their own.

Day 19 ✂️ Me Made May
So…I haven’t posted the last couple of days 😅 But honestly, that wasn’t really the pledge I made to myself this month.
My goal for Me Made May wasn’t to perfectly document every outfit or post every single day on social media. My goal was simply to wear, appreciate, and reconnect with the handmade pieces in my wardrobe throughout the month—and that part I have been doing 🤍
Sometimes life gets busy and I forget to take photos. Sometimes I’m just trying to get through the workday and social media falls to the bottom of the list. And I think that’s okay too.
Today I’m wearing my sweatshirt made with fabric from that I scored on WhatNot. It’s cozy, comfy, and exactly what I wanted for today.
But here’s the little roundup of the last few days:
✂️ Sunday I wore my lace tablecloth dress out to brunch
✂️ Monday was rainy and gray, so I reached for a pair of my self-drafted “secret pajama” lounge pants while working from my office all day
Honestly, that’s what Me Made May is really about for me this year—not curated perfection, but actually living in and loving the things I make.

We need to do this here in the US. Sewing is an art, a craft AND a life skill. Altering and mending your own clothes should just be what everyone does.

Finland’s libraries are expanding their role by lending out sewing machines, giving people the tools to repair clothes instead of discarding them. Alongside books, visitors can borrow equipment or use in-house machines to fix torn fabric, adjust sizes, or refresh older garments.

The idea makes repair more accessible. Not everyone owns a sewing machine or has space for one, but a shared library resource removes that barrier. It also encourages people to learn basic skills, helping them extend the life of what they already have.

More than a service, this reflects a shift toward practical sustainability. By supporting repair over replacement, libraries help reduce textile waste while empowering communities to reuse and create.

Me Made May Day 16 🖤
Today’s outfit ended up being completely handmade, which always feels extra satisfying.
I’m wearing my Andi Top by paired with self-drafted linen pants. The linen is from and the black sequin ribbon fabric is from . I styled everything with a thrifted belt and bag, my well-loved Birkenstocks, and a pair of handmade earrings.
This outfit felt comfortable, simple, and easy to wear for a Saturday date day. A friend gifted us tickets to see English at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and it was really good. Thoughtful, funny, and the kind of play that gives you a lot to think about afterward.
A good day all around. ✨

Day 15 ✂️ Me Made May
Halfway through the month already!
Today I’m sharing something a little different for —a project I created for my work at Sew Daily because it is officially Bag Month over there, and honestly…I’m kind of obsessed with how this one turned out.
This Quilted Panel Tote Bag tutorial is all about transforming your favorite fabric panels into a functional, one-of-a-kind tote bag using a combination of free-motion and straight-line quilting techniques.
For this sample, I used these gorgeous Rocky Mountain National Park fabric panels from and I love how perfectly they lend themselves to a sturdy everyday tote. It feels like carrying around a tiny piece of Colorado with me 🏔️
I think fabric panels can sometimes feel intimidating or hard to use creatively if not the centerpiece of a quilt, but this project is super beginner-friendly and such a satisfying way to showcase scenic prints, novelty fabrics, or artwork you really love.
And yes—the National Park panels are still available if you’ve been eyeing them…
One of the things I love most about sewing is that it doesn’t always have to be garments. Sometimes making something practical, useful, and beautiful for everyday life can be just as rewarding.
