Didn’t have time do prepping this week for daylight savings? No problem! You can either prep tonight or you can just do it cold turkey. If you want to prep tonight, here is how you did it:

“Shift your nighttime routine by one hour (starting with dinner) tonight. Make it one hour later than usual. The reason we start with dinner and not just a later bedtime is so their bodies feel that they are still on schedule - we’ve just thrown a slight wrench in by altering the times. This way, when they wake the next morning, their bodies are getting the same amount of sleep they are used to getting!” Shared from . If you have any question, let me know. Sweet dreams! 🥰

Here is an example on how to prep for the 1 hour change each night/morning. This it what it would look like if your child goes to bed at 7pm with a 7am wake up time (you can adjust it depending on whether your child goes to bed earlier or later). You gradually push back the time throughout the week. This will make for a smoother transition to the time change on Sunday morning. If this is what you’re interested in and have questions, feel free to message me or comment below!

This weekend is Daylight Savings weekend. Are you wondering how to adjust your child’s sleep schedule for a smooth transition? There are 3 approaches you can use. You can prep and adjust bedtime/wake time little by little each day. You can also just do 1 night of prep time or you can go cold turkey and adjust the morning of. I will provide instructions on how to do each this week. For me, I have always done cold turkey. But every family is different and many like to prep too which is great. Do whatever works best for you and your family 😊 if you have any questions, let me know!

Does your baby/child use a pacifier? When it comes to pacifiers and sleep training, sleep consultants have mixed feelings on whether or not to keep it. For me, personally, I like to leave that decision up to the parent. My main question would be though, what are your goals for your child’s sleep and for your child’s use of a pacifier?

If you are in a place where you would like your child to stop using their pacifier, let me know and I’ll send tips!

Or if you would like them to continue to use it, but want tips on getting them to sleep more independently, let me know! I am happy to help 😊 have a great day everyone!

It's crucial to meet your child's emotional needs. A child's emotional security plays a big role in many aspects of their life, including their sleep. Here are some ways we can build emotional security in babies/children (in regards to sleep):

✨Spend time with child in their room during the day, not just before bed

✨Create an amazing, safe environment that they are connecting and trusting you in. They will learn to love their space of sleep through building that attachment with you in their room

✨Be intentional. Put down phones and focus on quality time with child

✨Genuinely laugh, play, sing, dance and show your emotions physically to your child

✨Check with child to see if their “love tank” is full

👉🏼By doing this throughout the day, your child’s emotional security, confidence and love will be filled. Then when it comes to nighttime sleep, they will feel secure and more confident when going to sleep and staying asleep

👉🏼 When a child’s love tank is full, they have better quality of sleep, naps are better etc.

👉🏼The goal from this is to build emotionally strong healthy children that sleep really well

This sweet boy is Wylder and I had the privilege of making a sleep plan for him. We tweaked his plan and his schedule a few times to best fit his needs and were able to come up with a successful plan. I loved seeing the progress that he made and hearing that he is a great sleeper! Thanks for working with me! 🧡

Sibling room sharing can be a great experience for kids, but can also get tricky as well. Siblings can wake each other up, have a harder time falling asleep or one can get territorial of their space as well. My 4.5-year-old daughter and my 10 month old daughter share a room. I tried to put things in place that would help both of them get their best sleep possible. If your kids share a room and you find yourself looking for solutions to some challenges, here are some tips!

✨Create a space that works for everyone-not just one sided (for example: have the older sibling bring her own personality to the room instead of it just feeling like a nursery)

✨Try putting them down at the same time at night. Read stories and create a solid routine for everyone. Lights off at the same time eliminates bedtime battles.

✨Don’t get into a long discussion at bedtime. Keep it short and sweet

✨At nap time, put them down in separate rooms if possible

✨Expect change to occur and focus on the lighter sleeper at first

Please let me know if you have any questions!

👉🏼If you are looking to sleep train one of them or both of them, let me know and I will give you some tips on how to start that process!

Having a morning wake up routine is the fourth factor in the foundations of healthy sleep. This is an example of what it could look like. Babies and toddlers thrive on routine, so doing these steps will help in achieving better sleep 😴
