At the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver and encountering Ana Maria Hernando’s work feels like stepping into a floating, technicolor weather system, as if clouds decided to dress up, vibe and party. The forms billow and drift, layers of color blooming in celebration.
There’s something unmistakably costume-like in the way the shapes gather and unfold—ruffled, radiant, a little mischievous—like they’re just waiting for Peaches to step onstage and bring them to life. You can imagine them pulsing under stage lights, breathing with the music, transforming from sculpture into living, dancing presence.
