Thirty years ago this week, Nancy Morris, Donna Sheaffer and I opened Zanzibar Romancing Your Senses as a Bath and Body shop (quite the thing at that time!) at 45 North Market Street. We featured about twenty different bath lines, soaps from around the world, candles, incense and essential oils. Over the years we gradually brought in greeting cards, home decor and women's accessories.
After moving to our current location on King Street, we shifted closer to our current mix leaning heavily on women's accessories and apparel. After Nancy and Donna left the business in 2010, we brought in men's accessories and expanded our humorous gift section.
Today, we're always on the lookout for fun, colorful, reasonably priced lines to add to our selection.
