Let the record reflect:
During Juneteenth Weekend 2026, while covering a GO-GO performance at Sycamore & Oak on the Southside, I introduced a question that has since become a signature part of my interviews, storytelling, and fan engagement within the Go-Go community:
“So when did you first fall in love with Go-Go?”
The first person I publicly asked this question to on camera was a random GO-GO fan in attendance, during an on-camera interview conducted on the Southside in Washington, DC.
This was never intended to be a casual “just for fun” question. It was created as a meaningful cultural question designed to document personal Go-Go history, preserve memories, and capture the emotional connection people have with Go-Go Music and Culture.
According to my records, I first introduced and publicly used this question as part of the GO-GO UNIVERSITY™ media platform during Juneteenth 2026.
Since then, I have incorporated the question into GO-GO UNIVERSITY™, GO-GO FAN CAM™, GO-GO SIDELINE™, social media interviews, audience engagement campaigns, and graphic T-shirt designs.
Every fan, musician, promoter, DJ, photographer, videographer, and supporter has a story. This question was created to help tell those stories and preserve the culture for future generations.
Today, it remains my signature interview question because every person has a Go-Go story, and every story deserves to be told.
