Busy last week at the house, the crew got steel beams under the house. At this point, there is not much of the original 1847 field stone foundation left supporting the house.

This week, it is going to be lifted, but not yet moved. We are waiting for McCormick to give us a date and we will coordinate with the city to close streets and BWL to move a few power lines.

The original stones from the foundation will but taken out and used in the landscaping in the new location.

McCormick has been out knocking holes in the stacked stone foundation. They are going to put steel beams into the foundation, some will remain for structural support, others will create a platform for the lifting. Next week we will see the beams poking out of the foundation where the lifts will be placed under the tails of the beams on the exterior.

This weekend, we will be removing the front door and framing in the space with a plywood exterior. This will get replaced once moved, but is needed for structural support during the move.

We are getting closer to the liftoff. Moving date to be announced soon.

We have movement! Today McCormick is on site punching holes in the foundation to prepare for the lift-off.

The house should be moved in the next three weeks, although we do not yet have the exact move date, soon to be announced.

In the next few weeks the side lot to the north, from the house to Liberty street will be graded to prepare for the house to be shifted over temporarily until it is ready to move. A hole on our lot will be dug for the new foundation, the old foundation will be taken out and filled.

The move will take around three hours to move it one block down the street to its new location. The oldest structure will be saved and given a new life.

Excited to be able to save the structure and share it with the community.

The Bradly's HG crew gathered last evening on Zoobie's patio to bid farewell to Jasper (the young guy down at the end). After four great years as a valued member of our team, he is moving on to a new career. We all wish him the very best.
