Beverly Hull Wilhelm of LaPorte , was chosen as the Friendship Quilters May Quilter of the Month. She has been sewing since a child and began quilting six years ago. Beverly says she has always been creative and she loved the quilts that her grandma's made and was inspired to start piecing and quilting her own. She designed and drafted the quilt pictured entitled, " My Favorite Chapter", for her husband Ron. Since he is an avid reader , she chose to make a bookcase quilt. She designed it to include his two son's names embroidered on book bindings, an applique wolf in memory of his father who has passed, butterflies honoring his mother and Beverly and Ron's wedding date on the calendar. Beverly quilted it herself using a paper pantograph on her long arm quilting machine.
Her favorite part of attending Friendship Quilters is meeting other quilters and the sharing of quilting experiences.
When not sewing for herself or family she is busy quilting quilt tops made by others with custom designs using rulers, paper pantographs, or free motion quilting in her studio, Nana's Needles Longarm Quilting.
The Friendship Quilters meet the second Monday of the month at 6 PM at the Marshall County Council on Aging Life Enrichment Center located at 1305 Harrison Street in Plymouth, Indiana. All sewists are invited to come prior to the next meeting on June 8, 2026 from 1PM to 5 PM for open sewing regardless of skill level to join in sharing and learning all about quilting and then attend the meeting. Bring your own machine and project to work on.
