Oh sweet toads, I’ve missed you so 🥰 you have a jungle to live in and soon my pigs, will hang out with you 😂 as my mama pigs, start making the babies eat real food, Ive got a few that refuse 🤣 she will never know I’m here nursing, she’s too busy with them 😏

I’ve been absent, for quite some time. However, it’s the busy season and I’ve put all my energy, into the growth of myself and my little farm 😌 Mother’s Day, we were blessed with 19 piglets, I’ve lost 7, in a series of unfortunate events and these beautiful mamas, showed how compassionate and emotional they get, when they lose babies 😔 farming isnt all rainbows and sunshine, it’s a lot of hard work and learning to balance the good and bad. It’s gonna be a productive season, tomatoes already coming in, along with all my peppers too 🥰 if I could stop getting more plants, I could probably rest 😂 but I love homegrown food, so I have my priorities and enjoy self sufficiency 😌

I know, I’m not what some picture, when they think of “traditional farmers,” however I didn’t grow up in a city and you can’t take the country life or growing food ways, out of this girl 😌 another morning butcher run, for a while, to come home and pull up grass for my spoiled, pregnant mamas and their love machine 💚 the lady bugs I released up front, have made their way to the garden, in the back 🥰 I’ll keep flowing with the seasons and doin my thang, growing food for my animals, some for people and balance my routines, inside and out 😌 enjoy the little things in life, be humbled and go with the flow, it all comes together 😌

It’s been a busy week, of prepping and moving pigs around. Lots of time with bessi, she’s worked me and the soil 😌 got babies moved up front, stubs loading area put up, trailer backed up and ready to load her tonight. 😉 I found my safflower heads I saved and planted a ton of seeds yesterday, along with luffa seeds. In the middle of pulling up grass for the pigs, I found strawberries 🥰 flowing with the seasons, is a beautiful thing 😌

It’s been a busy few days and my pigs are always entertainment, make me stop, enjoy the little things, smile and fill my soul with love….even when being, completely counterproductive and slowing down my fence projects, stubs is not happy 😂 ever since I’ve gotten my tiller back, aka bessi, we have turned over my piles of flat composted areas and prepping for this year, it’s going to be beautiful and productive 😌 my sunflowers are starting to pop back up, the ganzia I put out is thriving, so it’s time to get in gear 💚 but the best part of valley life, driving around, we always get a beautiful sunset view 😌

This guy, he’s been an adventure raising…super sweet, I’m his human mom, for sure and he always escaped, to hang out. He never caused too much trouble, he only tried once, to follow me on a bike ride 😂 now I’m just straight spoiling my love, his circle with me closes down and he leaves Saturday morning. He’s 467 lbs of love and will feed a family, many meals. Moments of gratitude and definitely humbling, to be able to raise animals and provide for others. Sure it’s a lot of hard work, I’m always doing something and I have chaos, but my soul belongs outside in the sun, growing plants and animals, feeding bellies of all kinds 😌

Meet stubs, her name is fitting, she’s missing part of her tail and shes a short, wide gal 😂🙌💚 she’s the only pig, that has tried to bite me, while measuring her, with my fabric tape, just to get a live weight estimate 🤦‍♀️ she’s seen me do it a few times and those pigs, never come back, so it’s understandable. I only measured her, because new people moved into the neighborhood and were not hesitant, to stop and ask if they were for sale. Makes my life easier, especially because, I have 8 piglets from the batch and two more batches of piglets, on the way. So if anyone is looking for local butcher pigs or piglets, ask me and I’ll tell you what is available, as I’m back to breeding red wattle pigs now 😌

It’s been a little rough, with broken ribs, however chores and routines, must be addressed. Got the babies pig pen cleaned out and spread over the back plot, then sunflower, sudan grass seeds and water…grow on my sweet seeds 😌 I was also on a firebug kick, burning dead grass and weeds, around my property, cleansing with fire responsibility is key and the winds here, we work around them 😂 so I’ll celebrate every little victory, keep working slowly and watch it all grow 😌 plus, my carrots are beautiful and tasty, but the mint, has decided it’s pity is too small and split it open, nature always prevails 💚 spring time is knocking and I’m actually ready this year 🥰
