Craftsmanship has always been amongst the strongest attributes of US based creative entreprenurs. Yet in todays time price points and profit margins are more valuable than any other factor. There has been a huge decline in domestic manufacturuing due over the years due to high production costs and access to global suppliers through digital platfroms like Alibaba.
The global fashion industry being worth $2.5 trillion annuanlly shows that things haven't slowed down yet, they've just changed geographically. While the United States as a whole is the largest set of consumers worldwide, most products are not being produced stateside. With things like tarrifs positioning US manufacturers prices closer to overseas pricing we have seen a slight change in some brands moving parts of their operations back to the US.
If you have a justifyable explanation on why that is so please leave it in the comments?
