Hello friends and fans of Local Oasis!
The time has come to announce we are closing!
It’s no one’s fault- it’s been an extraordinary time. I’ve spread myself too thin these last few years. Owning a shop during the world ending has been only survival mode with non stop problem solving. When I thought about the best way to solve the financial crossroads I was at, the answer that came back to me was LESS. I want less than I thought I did.
I thought I wanted an EMPIRE because I admire artists who do that so much! (And I kinda did it, hey!) But since I got diagnosed with ADHD last year and am embracing the parts of who I am that I used to reject, I want a simpler life for myself. One with less stress, less paying invoices, and more making art and sitting with my pets. A little easier.
I have loved owning and running this amazing shop and now it’s time for new things!
I am returning to being a home based business and artist - that means downsizing and likely selling a smaller number of SKU’s - but don’t worry, I’ll be making a lot of new things. And I’ll be doing more pop-ups!
I’m looking forward to being more of “Abbie the artist” again and less of “Abbie the business manager”.
That being said, I adore my employees and I feel horrible that this is the only good solution for me right now to let them go. If anyone is in need of amazing employees I have the best people! Reach out to me at [email protected].
Lastly, I have 6 months remaining on my lease and am in search of a subleaser (Our space is 2 floors and 2,000 sq ft.) It’s a great deal for the arts district. If you’re interested please DM me or email me at [email protected].
I will be announcing our last day and more information soon! Keep an eye out for more announcements like sales things! We’ll be selling all of our items on sale - fixtures as well, so I’ll be posting those.
Thank you for being a fan and supporting us! This isn’t the end, it’s just the start of a
new chapter. Let’s keep in touch over at
