🪡Custom Suit Maintenance Guide🪡
Keep your suit looking sharp without unnecessary dry cleaning.
1. Rotation is Key
•Avoid wearing the same suit two days in a row.
•Give each suit 24–48 hours to rest between wears to allow fibers to recover and odors to dissipate.
2. Proper Hanging
•Hang suits properly to maintain their shape.
•Keep suits in a well-ventilated closet. Avoid plastic bags for storage; use fabric garment bags if needed.
3. Post-Wear Care
•Brush: Use a soft-bristled clothing brush after each wear to remove dust and dirt.
•Air Out: Hang your suit in a ventilated room for a few hours to let odors dissipate.
4. Spot Cleaning
•Treat stains immediately with a damp cloth or fabric-safe cleaner.
•Blot gently. Never rub, as this can damage fibers.
5. Steaming
•A handheld steamer refreshes fabric, removes wrinkles, and kills odor-causing bacteria.
•If a steamer isn’t available and steaming is a must, hang your suit in a steamy bathroom for a short period of time (not a highly recommended method due to possible uneven steaming & excessive moisture being added to fabric).
6. Minimize Sweat and Odors
•Consider wearing a thin undershirt to protect the fabric.
•Avoid heavy colognes, deodorants, or strong-smelling foods when wearing your suit.
7. Dry Cleaning Guidelines
•Only clean when necessary: visible stains, odors that don’t dissipate, or significant wrinkles.
•Over-cleaning accelerates fiber wear and lining damage.
8. Optional: Home Refreshers
•Fabric sprays designed for wool can neutralize odors between cleanings.
•Lint rollers or brushes keep the surface pristine.
9. Professional Touch
•For suits that get heavy use, a quarterly or semi-annual professional maintenance check is ideal: pressing, minor repairs, and deep cleaning if needed.
