Every January for the past 5 years, I’ve watched fashion predictions for the upcoming year. Why? Because I’m convinced I’ll use this information to push my small business forward and to inspire what I make the rest of the year. Sometimes I even end up making something inspired by the list.
This year’s crochet trend prediction is ~filet crochet~ so I wanted to throwback to these pictures and this mesh mini dress I made in 2022. I really wanted to test how many ways I could do hearts in this dress, before I even knew designs in crochet mesh is considered filet crochet. The inspiration to make the hurt cutout in the back came after I completed a skull lace shawl.

For those asking how or where to buy my already made crochet and upcycles:

I had stopped using etsy because I wasn’t making anything once the fees all went through. I’ve spent more keeping my POS sites up than I’ve made from online sales through those platforms.

That still doesn’t tell you how to buy non-custom pieces from me. I had started posting my works on Depop, but currently the best thing is to buy from me in person when I vend, or wait for me to launch my story sale which will be open to shipping and local pick up. I’ve got a lot of things to get rid of and only one me to put it all together so thank you all for bearing with me in these most interesting of times.

I made all these squares to make shorts and realized I had enough to make this skirt as well. I’m still finishing adding the ruffles to the shorts I’ve been working on (not pictured but coming soon). What ways can you think of to add new life to your shorts that have gotten just a little too short?

What I’ve been crocheting lately ~
You may have noticed I haven’t posted in a while, it’s also perfectly fine if you haven’t. I’ve been dealing with the decade long dilemma of should I even be selling my crochet at all. I’ve still been creating, I just haven’t really been sharing. I’m not really sure what this account will become, maybe I’ll just share what I create instead of trying to sell it or maybe I’ll start making something else entirely. It’s been a while, here’s some of what I’ve been up to

1) wearing my Poison Ivy cosplay dress I made for the event I vended at on 420
2) this video on that other short form video app finally hit 1k. It’s my video showing me upcycling this Goosebumps tee into a long sleeve using crochet. Didn’t do so well on this app
3 & 4) watching Bedazzled as I attempt my one woman sweatshop feat of bulk making starburst granny squares for hats & purses
5) made this bucket hat for book club meet that turned into bar hopping bc someone didn’t read the book & there’s only three of us
6) discovering the bucket hat I made for myself looks better on my boyfriend so it’s his now

To get started on that I’d like to offer some one on one upcycling lessons where I can teach you how to crochet or help you upcycle an item of clothing you’re wanting to give new life to.
