I didn't like the way the double decrease was looking so I started over and with US 8 needles instead.
Had to redo the math too but thats OK.

The double decreases. They look terrible but they should block out. Next time I will do them differently.
Love the way the colors pool or line up together.

I did have to go to the store to get more yarn.

It is vital to this pattern to do a gauge swatch. Its rare that I do one but its important to get an accurate stitch count.
I decided on 4mm or US 6 needles rather than US 5. The stitch count is the same.

Starting the Adult Surprise Jacket needs some algebra.
Math isn't my strong suit, but as I've gotten older and my brain matured and I've learned to apply it, it makes more sense.
So formulas are given to figure out different values used throughout the pattern.
At one point the math don't math but I'm going to trust the process. There's a reason its called the surprise jacket.

I decided to make the Adult Surprise Jacket since I'm obsessed with the southwest colors of this yarn.
I had started the Baby Surprise Jacket for my second born in March of 2020 but..... things got in the way. Pictured is the yarn I'm using I got for my birthday this week.
