What do you see when you look at this closet?
I see an organized closet with a lot of potential—but also a lot of missed opportunities, starting with the wire shelving.
Sometimes we look at something for so long that we stop seeing what it could be. That's where I come in.
Here are a few things I notice:
1–Wire shelving wastes space. Standard wire shelving hangs clothes about 12" from the wall. I design closets with hanging rods at 9.5–9.75", which creates noticeably more usable space.
2–Storage shouldn't all be overhead. Everyday items belong within easy reach. Reserve the top shelves for seasonal or rarely used items.
3–Corners are wasted. This layout makes it nearly impossible to hang clothes efficiently. Hanging wall to wall maximizes both storage and function.
4–Dead space invites clutter. That open area may seem useful for shoes, but it usually becomes a catch-all pile.
5–Those center supports are frustrating. They block you from sliding clothes freely, leaving only about 12" of uninterrupted hanging space.
