Sophie and her sewing partner Christa made sleep sacks. Their own idea! We’re working on slewing with fleece - which can be challenging - fabric selection; learning appropriate fabric for each project as well as cutting and measuring. And don’t forget about operating a sewing machine also!!

I am learning more and more about teaching. About patience. About creativity and most importantly providing inspiration to all my students. Adults and children. I am realizing that sometimes the initiative and enthusiasm start with me. Keeping students’ interest and making learning fun for them is challenging.

I was touched that one of my students named Sophie thought of me over her school vacation and brought me this surprise.

Beginner sewing class for kids Wednesdays in May. May 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 4-530. Classes are for kids 8 and up who have minimal sewing experience. Space is limited to 4 spots. Each child has their own machine and all materials are included; send me a dm or text 774-290-8098 to register. $135.00 tuition payable by cash check or Venmo.

I will be opening registration for intermediate and advanced kids' classes next week. Summer schedule is coming in May. all classes are at Bea's Closet in Rochdale.

These girls from the advanced beginner’s class showed up with a raging case of spring fever and got it done nonetheless. I am so proud of their improving skills, attention spans and initiative. Commitment is about showing up when you’d rather not. They were rewarded with the satisfaction of finishing their projects; Krista’s skirt and Sophie’s apron. Registration for May and June’s classes begins next week. Summer schedule coming out in May!

Whether you're sewing at your machine, drawing in a sketchbook, crafting something by hand, or doing anything that makes your heart feel calm and fulfilled, those small moments matter more than you may realize. Creativity has a beautiful way of reminding us to be present and grateful for the little things.

So give yourself permission to choose what makes you happy today. Spend time doing what brings you peace, inspiration, and a sense of accomplishment. The small creative moments you enjoy today—no matter how simple—can grow into something meaningful over time. Keep creating, keep exploring, and remember that happiness often begins with the smallest choice to do something you truly love.

Rory came Friday morning and made her first sewing project. A pillow with book or notebook strap. This involved fabric and strap material selection cutting sewing stuffing and closing her pillow She finished her project in one hour and did a fabulous job!! Can’t wait until she comes back for the kid’s classes in March.
