This morning the leaves looked even more stunning at the barn. I visited my favorite roadside stand for pumpkins for the shop and a truck filled with apples heading elsewhere from a local farm rolled by the shop. The gratitude I feel for life in Leelanau is beyond what I can express in words.

Tales from the Kiln Hi all, we need your spirit prayers and hopeful wishes to soar to Megan (Jam Pot Pottery). I feel heart broken because her most recent firing did not succeed. I cannot imagine the hours adding up to weeks & days she spent on each individual piece for Goodness and now she is unable to sell them. I know this is a part of being a ceramics artist, but I’m crushed for her. Please send good vibes to her artist heart and to her kiln! Hopefully we will have our seasonal release soon along with more Janice Sue and Joy tugs. Megan Stoeckel

The perfect fall day to shop in Leland. I know of two weddings in town today and am praying for their guests and for the amazing couples! Weddings and girls’ weekends are my favorite customers. Moments of quiet are so fleeting in our often chaotic lives. True quiet. No multitasking. This morning I watched the light change in the barn as the sun rose. The horses eating and the barn creaking were the only sounds. I hope you are gifted some of those moments soon and that you allow yourself to relish in them. Very excited for our next egives initiative. Kesem Kids ensures children impacted by parent’s breast cancer is never alone. 100% of Elizabeth’s profit benefits this wonderful organization. So far, Goodness has participated in every egives initiative; childhood brain cancer research (Cat’s Wish) and Camp Mystic support. These are beautiful and meaningful. We will have a full stock of extends, standard and egirl available online and in the shop within the next week. enewton design

Construction 🚧 update. I pulled up to River and Main and honestly, couldn’t figure out if I should cross the road (not for lack of direction from the crew there was a super helpful Elmer’s dude guiding traffic) I just didn’t want to cross the road only to come right back home. Elmer’s is paving today, working so hard to stay on schedule and we are grateful. Molly’s, Two Fish, The Merc and probably a few others are open today. At this point, Goodness will close at least for this morning. My wonderful neighbors are going to keep me up to date! For now- there is much to do at home. Good morning! Popping on here to share my favorite fall plant, the eerie weather here in Leland, and also how our peaceful lil spot is only blocks away from the busyness of Main Street in Leland and the two speeds differ quite a bit. I’ll update you on M22 construction when I get to the shop.

Maggie sistered me. She wasn’t going to put up with this anymore and took things into her own hands! Thank you to both of them for adding some relief to the door saga. Not only is this such a sweet addition to our shop, it is a true piece of leland retail history.
