When you step out into the backcountry this winter, having a beacon, shovel, and probe in your pack is only step one.

Here is the brutal truth about the backcountry:

-The 15-Minute Rule: If a partner is fully buried, their survival rate is 93% if dug out in 15 minutes. After 45 minutes? It drops to around 20%. Search and Rescue won’t make it in time. You are the rescue team.

-Terrain Is Everything: Most avalanches happen on slopes between 30° and 45°. Avalanche training teaches you how to read the angles and the snowpack so you can avoid the slide entirely.

-Beating “Powder Fever”: Human psychology is the biggest trap. Education gives your group a framework to check your egos, ignore the hype, and make smart decisions together.

Before you invest in expensive gear, invest in a Level 1 course. Know before you go! 🌲✨

The First SledSend Brotherhood Retreat Changed Everything

What started as a group of guys connecting online turned into something a lot bigger.

For the first time ever, the Sled Send Brotherhood came together in real life for our first retreat. Guys drove from all over the country to spend a weekend riding, hanging out, and building something that honestly feels rare these days — real brotherhood.

This episode is a look back at that weekend.

We talk about the chaos of getting everyone together, the moments that made the trip unforgettable, and why this retreat proved that what we’re building with Sled Send is bigger than snowmobiling. It’s about community, pushing each other to be better, and surrounding yourself with people who share the same mindset.

Some guys drove 20–30 hours just to be there.
Some met each other for the first time after years of talking online.
And by the end of the weekend, it felt like something real had been built.

This was the first Brotherhood Retreat.
It definitely won’t be the last.
