We are a start-up boutique in downtown Lexington with a focus on children’s clothing, sweets, skincare, and jewelry, plus the expected little knickknacks you find at many gift shops. This position is unpaid to start (hence the internship) because we are brand new, but if this intern was able to help us get the boutique off the ground and start generating some serious traffic it could become a paid position. This position will take a heavy hand in digital marketing because we need help generating buzz and consistently posting about our products on social media and the website, including a steady stream of pictures of all of the items in the store. This position will also take part in retail, merchandising, ordering, and stock-keeping. We are 100% OK with the right person bringing schoolwork in with them to do on the job because it’s going to be slow going to start.
