I teach the SAT & ACT. Standardized tests are predictable. Learn the test and secure scholarships for college. I gulped. I worried. I sighed. I had five of them.

When my oldest son entered high school, I began the daunting task of looking at the costs of college tuition. Our local university was over $20,000 a year for tuition, room and board. Private schools ranged from around $30,000 to $45,000 a year. What was the average family to do? How did people go to college these days without amassing large quantities of debt? Through some amazing circumstances,

I was introduced to the concept of standardized test prep. At the time there was not a lot on the market that dealt specifically with ACT prep. However, I knew the great value of ONLY using real ACT tests. I literally tore them apart from cover to cover and began to study them. I saw the same patterns tested over and over. I progressed rapidly as a student as I studied the ACT. I rejoiced in the fact that they were, indeed, standardized. I knew that I could teach this to my son. As I write this today, four years have passed. My son just graduated from high school. He will be attending college in the fall with a full tuition merit based scholarship based solely on his ACT score. I have started this page to help and encourage others as well as to chronicle a new journey with my daughter. She will be a sophomore in high school in the fall and we plan to CRUSH the ACT. The 2026-27 academic year is set to begin without a selected state college entrance exam as the state has to rebid its contract.

I’m just finishing up an amazing ACT class at Beech High School in Hendersonville, TN! These students were so excited to learn, and it was an absolute JOY to be with them. Tennessee students take the ACT next week at their schools. We got this!!

I was AMAZED that we still had so many students this weekend for class in Lexington. The February ACT is in two weeks, and I wanted to be available for whomever could attend. These kids worked so hard!!

I’ve been teaching the SAT in Harlan for the past two weeks! It’s a wildly predictable test, and I am so excited to help KY kids learn how to master it!

It was a FULL class in Lexington this weekend as students prepare for the new, enhanced ACT on September 6. I am enjoying the challenge of learning new things! SAT classes are coming in January. 😱

I taught a brand NEW CLASS this weekend in Olive Hill! The enhanced ACT is shorter, students have more time per question, and science is optional. I always feel invigorated after spending the weekend with students who are excited to learn!

Kentucky wants to administer to high school juniors the SAT instead of the ACT for its college-entry exam.
