“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Thank God for His enduring love and faithfulness, that He would restore the Jewish people, the people of Israel and Judah! This verse shows us that though the Jews were experiencing judgment and chastisement and removal from the land God gave to them, there would come a day when, not only would they be brought back 70 years later from Babylon, but in the far future, through Jacob’s trouble, they would again be drawn back from their dispersion, come to trust in the Lord, ruled by the King of kings, and would never again be removed from the land of Israel!

“For I am with you to save you, declares the Lord; I will make a full end of all the nations among whom I scattered you, but of you I will not make a full end. I will discipline you in just measure, and I will by no means leave you unpunished.”

“Out of them shall come songs of thanksgiving, and the voices of those who celebrate. I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will make them honored, and they shall not be small.”

i’ve been learning quite a bit from John MacArthur‘s study Bible, and I appreciate the way he described the meaning of this particular passage in Hebrews in his commentary regarding Jesus’ nature. Simple and truthful!

“Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.”

There are some people who may never hear the gospel in truth, neither face-to-face or online. They may hear a part of it, about Jesus' love, but not the gospel: The fact that they're sinners in need of a Savior, Jesus, who is the only way to have peace with God, who was the only One who ever lived a sinless and perfect life (being God in the flesh), willingly suffered and died on the cross, rose from the dead 3 days later, conquered Satan, sin and death and made a way for guilty sinners to be free from eternal hell and be with Him in His Kingdom through repentance and faith in Him, making Jesus their Lord and Savior.

What if YOU had the opportunity to share the 1 true gospel with someone today, even online? It only takes minutes. It might be a friend, an acquantance, or possibly a celebrity who follows other world religions like scientology (Patrick Renna for example). The power of the gospel saves and transforms lives, whether we use our mouths to speak or our fingers to type.

Don't undermine the power of the Holy Spirit which works through the sharing of the good news!
