The Village Cobbler Boot and shoe repair

A customer gave me this shoe cobbler figurine. That was thoughtful of them, and I really like the detail.

I am often asked if I do buildups on shoes and boots. I have been doing buildups on footwear for a long time as I see a lot of people with leg length discrepancies. Images of my work can be seen in my photo gallery, but I thought I would show a couple of my most recent work.

The boot on the left is a one and three-quarter inch lift with a quarter inch lateral wedge.

The boot on the right is a one inch lift with a half inch medial wedge.

If you have a leg length discrepancy and think you need a buildup, you first need to get professionally measured by a podiatrist or chiropractor, then come see me. If you already wear a buildup and are looking for someone to do the work, there is no need to make an appointment, just come in anytime during regular hours, and I will be happy to assist you.

A man walks into a shoe repair shop to get his boots resoled. The cobbler looks them over and told the man he could have them ready for him by next Tuesday.

Then the man’s father tragically dies suddenly so he had to travel out of state to look after his mother and help out on the family farm.

He returns a year later and remembers his boots. So he goes to the shoe repair shop and inquires about them. The cobbler says he remembers him and told him he would have his boots ready by next Tuesday. 🤣

I graduated high school in 1976, our nation’s bicentennial. At the age of 18, I never put much thought into what that meant. I enlisted in the military the following year and that’s when I began to understand just how blessed I was to be a citizen of the United States of America - the greatest nation in the history of the world. Serving in the military, I gained a deep appreciation for those who fought and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. I was proud to have served.

Have a safe and happy Independence Day, everyone. And please say a prayer for our great nation, and those who fight every day to keep us free.
