Norse America Update

Finding the right path takes time.

Just like the explorers who trusted simple tools to guide them across unknown seas, we’re navigating our own journey — searching for the American craftsmen and manufacturers who share our uncompromising standards.

No shortcuts.
No outsourcing.
No straying off course.

Our direction is set:
American wool. American manufacturing. True heritage craftsmanship.

Every step brings us closer to partners who honor the same spirit of exploration that inspired our ancestors — and inspires every stitch we design.

Thank you for your patience and support as we chart this course the right way.
We’re building something meant to last.

Over a thousand years before America’s founding, a Norse explorer named Leif Erikson sailed beyond the edge of the known world and set foot on the shores of North America, a land he called Vinland.

His journey embodied the same courage and craftsmanship we honor at Norse America Clothing Co. ; explorers forging new paths, guided by strength, curiosity, and enduring legacy.

As America approaches its 250th anniversary, we carry forward that same spirit of exploration, not across oceans, but through every stitch we make.

American Made. Heritage Driven.

History remembers Leif Erikson and the Norse explorers who reached North America around the year 1000. But buried in the DNA of modern Icelanders lies evidence of a forgotten companion: a Native American woman carried across the Atlantic nearly 500 years before Columbus.

In 2010, researchers analyzed 80 people from four Icelandic families and discovered a rare genetic marker, C1e. This lineage is almost exclusively found in Native American populations. Based on genealogical records, it entered Iceland’s gene pool around 1000 AD — the very time Vikings were exploring Vinland, in present-day Newfoundland, Canada.

The story that emerges is remarkable. At some point, during trade, contact, or conflict, a Native American woman crossed the ocean with the Norse. Whether she was a captive, wife, or ally, we may never know. But she survived, had children, and her DNA passed quietly through 40 generations, hidden until science uncovered her in the 21st century.

Her legacy reframes history: the first American may have reached Europe not in 1492, but in 1000. A human story preserved not in books or sagas, but in blood.

Thank you to everyone who’s been following, sharing, and encouraging our journey so far.

We’re building more than a clothing brand. We’re building a community that values American-made craftsmanship and shares the explorer’s adventurous spirit that inspired Norse America.

Every message, like, and word of support keeps this vision moving forward. We’re currently in talks with U.S. manufacturers and expect to have our first heritage knitwear prototypes soon: authentic wool hoodies crafted here at home, built to last a lifetime.

Stay tuned as we take the next steps toward launch.

For explorers. For craftsmen. For those who dare to go further.
