I saw that Jerry Springer passed away today.
This is how I feel about it.
While it has been years since I last subjected myself to an episode, The Jerry Springer Show is burned in my memory during my most formative and teenage years. I watched Black people on national TV abusing each other, I participated in laughing at it and I had little awareness, like many, about the seeds being planted in our subconscious mind that drama and conflict was the way the world works [insert Verneda' decade long streak, beginning around 16, of being at the center of and creating unnecessary drama because I had not developed a healthy self-esteem].
Shows like Jerry Springer expose unhealthy behavior to millions of people who do not know the difference between reality and entertainment. These show have been hazardous to our mental health, our ability to build positive relationships and add an extra layer of emotional lack of intelligence that one will later need to unpack, overcome and regain their own self thinking, if you're lucky.
Prior to his death, Jerry Springer left behind an apology.
According to NBX and E! News:
"The talk show host offered up an unexpected apologyย followingย The Jerry Springer Show's almost three decade run. During a Nov. 8 [2022] appearance onย David Yontef'sย Behind the Velvet Ropeย podcast, Springer said he was "so sorry" for how his show went on to impact TV.
"I just apologize," he said. "I'm so sorry. What have I done? I've ruined the culture."

The culture... you mean Black people?
For all the Black families exploited for entertainment and profit, who perhaps did it for the money, or perhaps out of the unconsciousness this society is designed to create, we send a positive affirmation of healing.
You feel apologetic after the show ended? At no time during the near 30 year run did he stop.
Well Jerry... it's been real โ๐ฟ
