Hi Friends! I have missed you. If you haven’t heard, almost two years ago I started my career as a hospice social worker. No doubt it has been quite the transition but being with people and their families in their final months or days, and sometimes even for their last breath, is incredibly special, leaving me exhausted at the end of each day but with the feeling that I have contributed just a tiny something to this beautiful thing we call the human race. However it’s this fulfilling feeling from my 9-5 that is causing a little push-pull with my craft. I’m just not sure working with cold metal will ever feel quite the same after dealing with warm bodies, minds and hearts day in and day out. But don’t get me wrong… there is still something therapeutic about putting the snips and hammer to work, when I have the energy. And dare I say these bold beauties embody a little of that human warmth in their story.
