Calamity’s (originally known as All Blinged Out) started out as a dream. Literally. My mom, Jennifer, dreamt about it, woke up, and took action. No hesitation, no doubts.

That dream soon turned into an online business being ran in our computer room/workout room. Then from there the business quickly grew and gained its own building on Main Street in Elma WA.

My mom then carried this business all the way to Livingston MT about 13 years ago. It was greatly welcomed by the community and she felt so much pride and joy in what she had built.

This business has employed many friends, all of my siblings at one point or another, and it’s been an answered prayer that has allowed me to keep my son with me every day for the last two years. This business has been a blessing to so many in so many different ways and we thank her for that. Her generosity and willingness to help was profound.

I’m writing this post not necessarily because I want to or am feeling up to it but rather because I owe it to my mom to continue running and managing the business as best as possible before we let it go. She deserves that. But please everyone bear with me as my family navigates this. Our store front hours may change without notice on some days and online orders might take a day longer to get out because of that.

My mom loved this store. It was her baby at one point. She met so many people and made so many friends throughout the years because of it. She helped and impacted so many with it. She gave all the glory to God. She will be missed forever.

& Despite all the heartache we’re feeling, God is still good. We know this. We know she’d be telling us to hold on to this. And we know she wants everyone else to know this.

What joy it brings us to know that because of our Lord’s sacrifice, we can have hope and peace in all this darkness because we know that will see her again. Thank you, Jesus.

Rest easy mama. We love you and will remember to live spontaneously.
