Dear friends,
This coming year will mark 10 years on this account. I have loved sharing stories, photos, connecting with like minded folks, and working with other small businesses, but things have changed. I’m burnt out and wanting space . This is not (necessarily) a reaction to the election, but something I’ve been contemplating for a while now and I’ll continue to fight the good fight in my community, through my parenting and my small businesses. I do have a private, not curated at all account where I mostly post photos of my kids and dogs. Connect with me there if we are friends or my shop biz pages and or IRL. Tomorrow I look forward to planting garlic with no camera or phone, just me and the garlic. 🧄

The slow living, homesteading romance is a thing. A lot of people follow me for it and I follow a lot of other accounts for the same reason. Over the last little while I’ve seen so many women/moms pushing conspiracy theories, and anti trans, white nationalist rhetoric (it’s so bothersome to me that I’m contemplating deactivating this account all together). For now though, I’m here to say that you can live off the land and be pro choice. You can heat your house with a wood burning stove and also stand up for your LGBTQ neighbors. You can live in the country and believe in vaccines. You can wear a pretty dress while feeding your chickens and say f**k patriarchy and racism. Time to get to work rural country friends! 🐓
