🧡 Some people build community wherever they go. Shayla () builds entire ecosystems for creativity, connection, and care — and she’s doing it while learning how to live fully with MS. 
🎶 Shayla is a musician, teaching artist, nonprofit leader, and co-creator of a San Diego creative hub () bringing artists and organizers together through culture and collaboration.   🎉 She’s also a recent MOXIE Award honoree, recognized for her leadership and impact in the arts community. 
💖 Diagnosed with MS in 2022, she’s been redefining success in real time: • learning to schedule rest like it matters (because it does) • returning to teaching and playing music after symptoms paused her path • staying rooted in community care, creativity, and curiosity • and reminding herself daily: Take it one day at a time. You’re doing the best you can
