🌴 Closing out 2026 with First Wave Tiki 🍍

We’ve still got a few more stops to make before we wrap up the year!

We had a great time heading north last weekend for the Sac Ohana Marketplace at The Lost Port of Sacramento. It was such a pleasure to be included in the inaugural marketplace at the Streets of London Pub. Thanks for the invite and to everyone who stopped by, shopped our work, and made us feel welcome!

We’re not done yet, though. Still a few more stops on the tiki marketplace road. We’ve compiled a list of more opportunities coming up to find our wares in the wild — from handmade lamps, hand-painted upcycles, custom carvings, vintage tiki décor, restored finds, and other one-of-a-kind tropical oddities.

Keep an eye out for us at these upcoming events up and down the great state of California, and maybe a few more to add to the list coming up. We’d love to see some familiar faces, meet new friends, and help you find something a little different for your home bar, tiki room, or collection.

Take a look underwater at this custom crate lamp we built for one of the cabana huts at Son of The Big Tiki Woo Woo this past weekend. 🪼💡

We were commissioned to build a lamp with a Jellyfish theme for Siren’s Jellyfish Garden. It was a fun challenge for William La Gone Jr. as this was his first time adding blacklight to one of his lamps. So, there was a bit of experimenting, testing and figuring things out along the way. But we think the finished piece came out pretty damn well. It got a lot of chatter at the event.

We love getting the chance to build something that’s completely one-off, especially when it involves trying something new.

Sacramento, here we roll! 🌴

We’re packing up and heading north (again… 😉) this time to The Lost Port of Sacramento, deep in the delta, hosted by the Sacramento Ohana crew at Streets of London Pub on Sunday, October 11 from 12–6 PM.

We’ll be bringing a fresh selection of First Wave Tiki goods, including the usual hand-painted up-cycles, handmade tiki lamps, custom carvings, tropical artwork, vintage tiki & Hawaiiana, restored vintage finds, and plenty of one-of-a-kind collectibles.

We’ve been traveling a bit you might have seen, and we’re looking forward to seeing our Sacramento friends this time north, meeting some new ones, and finding out what treasures make the trip home with us. Because apparently we can’t travel anywhere without bringing something back. 🍍

🌴 Next stop on the Fall Tiki Tour of CA - Ventura! 🌴

First Wave Tiki will be vending at Tiki Adventura’s SON of BIG TIKI WOO-WOO on Friday, October 2 + Saturday, October 3 at the Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach.

🏴‍☠️ SHIPWRECKED TOMORROW! 🏴‍☠️

We’re packing up the First Wave Tiki treasure chest and heading to Shipwrecked at The Warehouse in Marina del Rey tomorrow, 11am–3pm.

We’ll have a limited number of handmade lamps, plus hand-painted trays, original art, and a few vintage PNG masks for anyone looking to add a little tropical weirdness to their collection.

Can’t wait to see all of our favorite people, listen to some good music, and imbibe a Rum Barrel or two. 🍹

Come say hi before the good stuff washes away, and don’t forget to check out all the other amazing artists and vendors who will be slinging their wares as well.🌴

We’re posted up at Weir B**r in Vista today for the South Pacific Room sale! 🌴🍻

We brought a little bit of everything: a selection of our coconut lamps, hand-painted trays, purses, upcycled oddities, plus a collection of PNG masks and vintage Witco pieces.

Come have a drink, poke around, and take home something weird and wonderful. We’d love to chat!

They look vintage. They’re not. 😏

These started life at Urban Outfitters, but Kelly (Kelly Ann Strodl) had other plans.

Several coats of black fabric paint, followed by hand-drawn/painted tapa floral patterns, with metallic shading on a select few. Getting the pattern to behave around a cylinder was no small feat. Every line and detail was painted by hand.

Then came the finishing touches: new braiding around the edges, followed by brand-new bulbs and wiring installed by William (William La Gone Jr.). ⚡️🌺

A little Urban Outfitters → a lot more First Wave Tiki.

We’ll have these with us this Saturday at the South Pacific Room Sale at Weir Brewery in Vista. Come see them in person before they find their new homes.
