This is one we’ll be keeping for a long time. It’s rare to find a Soviet poster that has never been folded and is in such great condition. It’s amazing to find one for an all-time great film like Stalker, directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. 👀❤️

This is a poster for the Bulgarian comedy, Reporter's Vacation (Отпуск репортера). We didnt' find a lot of information about the film, and honestly we're willing to bet the poster is so much better than the movie ;-) We love the playful artwork by Michael Khefits (Михаил Хейфиц) who was active from 1948 to 1981 and is one of the most prolific poster artists.

Vintage Soviet movie poster for An Ordinary Miracle (Обыкновенное чудо). Theres a more famous adaptation of this play which was released in 1978, but this is the first released in 1964. We love the artwork here by prolific poster designer Yuri Tsarev (Юрий Царев) who designed hundreds of movie posters and some propaganda posters as well. This is a really good example of his often fanciful work with the typography serving as the scafolding for the design.

Don't ask us about this film, we have no idea what it's about 🙃 What we do know is that it's called Nasserdin v Khodjente (Насреддин в Ходженте, или Очарованный принц) and was produced in Tajikistan in 1959, so that's deeper into the Soviet film universe than we're ready to go!

What attracted us to this poster was it's contemporary feel, fun artwork and that it's designed by one of our favorite artists, Myron Lukyanov. It had an original print run of 42,000 and we love it. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Vintage soviet movie poster for the ballet film -- Secret of Success (Секрет успеха). The 1964 film tells the story of what it takes to succeed in the Russian school of dance, from little boys and girls who join, to the stars of Soviet ballet in the 60s. This is a beautiful poster by one of our favorite artists Myron Lukyanov and had a print run of just 8,200. This poster is in great condition and will be posted to sovietpaper.com soon.

Vintage Soviet movie poster for the "New Adventures of the Elusive Avengers" (Новые приключения неуловимых), a 1968 action/adventure/western film. The original 1967 film, Elusive Avengers, was so successful that it spawned to sequels, of which this was the first.

1963 vintage movie poster for Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors (Королевство кривых зеркал) directed by Alexander Rou (Александр Роу), a Soviet fairy tale that's also a commentary on western/capitalist hipocricy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This is a wonderful poster designed by Nikolay Abakumov (Николай Абакумов) and had an original print run of 54,000.

Vintage soviet movie poster for the 1968 film Zigzag of Success (Зигзаг удачи) directed by Eldar Ryazanov (Эльдар Рязанов) and stars Yevgeny Leonov (Евгений Леонов). This poster was designed by one of our favorite artists, Vasiliy Ostrovsky (Василий Островский) who has a timeless style and has created several iconic posters including the Diamond Arm. This poster is a wonderful example of his work. The typography on this poster is one of the elements we really love about the design.
