For many dog owners, this is a non-negotiable.

When someone wants to be part of your life but cannot accept your dog - whether they are your rescue, your senior pup, your loyal companion, or the one who has been there through every chapter - it reveals something important. To people who truly love dogs, pets are not accessories. They are family.

A supportive partner should respect the responsibilities of being a pet parent and understand the deep bond between a person and their animal. Choosing your dog is not overreacting. It is choosing love, loyalty, and a family member who would never turn their back on you.

Would you stay with someone who could not accept your dog?

Even minors should face real consequences for animal abuse. What do you think?

Hurting a dog, cat, puppy, kitten, or any helpless animal should never be brushed off as “kids being kids.” Animal cruelty needs accountability, education, intervention, and consequences that teach compassion before the behavior gets worse.

Every dog owner, cat lover, pet parent, rescue supporter, shelter volunteer, and animal welfare advocate knows animals feel fear, pain, trust, and love. Their suffering is real, and protecting them should matter at every ag

Should vets be allowed to report pet owners they suspect of abuse without consent?

If a vet sees clear signs that an animal may be suffering, protecting that animal should come first. Dogs, cats, and other pets cannot explain what happened to them, so vets are often the only voice they have in that moment.

Veterinarians are trained to spot injuries, fear, neglect, and repeated warning signs. Giving them the right to report suspected abuse can help save animals from more pain, more neglect, and sometimes even death.

Animal abuse should never be protected by silence. If reporting a suspected abuser can help rescue a suffering pet, many people would say that is not betrayal, it is responsibility.

Should stray dogs and cats have the right to food, water, and safe shelter by law?

No animal should be left hungry, thirsty, scared, or soaked in the rain just because they do not have a home. Stray dogs, stray cats, abandoned pets, rescue animals, and homeless animals still feel fear, cold, hunger, trust, and love.

Every dog owner, cat lover, pet parent, animal rescue supporter, shelter volunteer, and animal welfare advocate knows basic care should not be optional. Food, clean water, safe shelter, veterinary care, and compassion can be the difference between suffering and survival.

A kinder world starts with protecting the ones who cannot ask for help

Should animals be included in emergency evacuation plans by law?

When floods, fires, storms, and disasters happen, pets are not belongings to leave behind - they are family. Dogs, cats, birds, farm animals, rescue pets, senior animals, and scared strays all need safety, transport, shelter, food, water, and medical care during an emergency.

Every pet parent, dog owner, cat lover, animal rescue supporter, shelter volunteer, and animal welfare advocate knows this truth: a real emergency plan should protect the whole family, including the ones with paws, claws, feathers, and hooves.
