One day
you’re young enough
to remember every little thing…
and the next day
you’re standing in the kitchen
holding the…
that thingy…
for the… you know… the cooking thing.
Your brain still works,
it just opens too many tabs now.
Names disappear.
Words go on vacation.
Thoughts walk into rooms
and never come back.
So now everything becomes:
“Pass me the thingy.”
“Put it over there.”
“You know what I mean.”
And somehow…
everyone still understands you. 😌
Maybe that’s not aging.
Maybe that’s reaching
a level of wisdom
where details no longer feel important.
Because honestly,
if the food gets cooked,
the bills get paid,
and everybody makes it through the day…
who really cares
what the spatula was called anyway? ☕
