'British man' was honored as 'good man in the capital'🤩🐹
Harold Browning, 35 years old, was honored as "The Good Man" of the Capital for taking care of and building a living space for wildlife that was once trafficked.
Harold Browning, British nationality, has been with Vietnam for 8 years as an animal welfare consultant, Animals Asia. Currently, he works as an animal welfare consultant for about 600 animals at the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Center, where most of the animals are evidence of trafficking cases; and consulted for many zoos in Vietnam.
On September 6, Harold Browning was recognized by the Hanoi People's Committee as one of 70 individuals "Good people, good deeds" in 2022.
Every day, Harold rides a motorbike nearly 50 km from the center of Hanoi to his workplace in Soc Son, regardless of rain or shine and usually arrives 30 minutes earlier. The nearly 10 square meter room is where the animal welfare department works. Colleague Nguyen Le Thuy Linh said that Harold's original specialty was to provide welfare for bears, but now any animals coming to the center must go through his hands. With many years of experience, Harold is always passionate about each animal, especially the new ones brought to the center.
Harold said he will continue to work with animal welfare in Vietnam.
"The people who work in wildlife protection and care here are clearly changing, have skills, understand more about animals. That is the highest motivation for me to stick," he said.
