Wishing you a blessed Good Friday & Resurrection Sunday!
On Good Friday we remember the death of Jesus on our behalf. We call to mind His suffering in our place and express our gratitude to Him for His incredible sacrifice.
On Resurrection Sunday, we celebrate the glorious truth that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day. Death could not hold Him. He is the Author of Life and His resurrection is proof that He paid the penalty for all our sins.
Matthew 27:50-54 - He Gave Up His Spirit:
And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and[e] went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, “Surely he was the Son of God!”
Acts 4:33 - Testify to the Resurrection:
With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all.
