So excited to finally share this outfit that I made for my friend for Allstars last year! It was incredibly challenging creating such a dramatic silhouette structure out of PAPER, and since I couldn’t make a traditional petticoat for underneath, I used collapsible Chinese lanterns to help support and hold up the shape of skirt. Very happy to get praise from the judges, particularly the A plus from 😅🙏😍

has always been one of the biggest creative influences in my life. He was the designer that motivated me the most to go to fashion school 30 years ago and after all this time is STILL one of the most inspirational.

I had the opportunity to meet him at his book signing of Fashion Fe**sh Fantasy in 98. I wanted to show my appreciation by dressing like the Mugler man/woman and was so humbled by his compliment and graciousness.

It was truly a spiritual experience to visit his Coutuissime exhibit in Montreal in 2019. After years of seeing all these brilliant, iconic creations on film, it brought tears of joy & awe to witness them face to fabric.

I’m heartbroken that he’s gone but I’m so grateful for the unparalleled legacy he’s left behind in the world of fashion, costume and art.

RIP Master Mugler and keep creating beauty in the heavens.
