Shalom mishpacha,
We hate to say it, but I guess there's no way around it: after seven crazy years, we're closing Unkosher Market. That's right, we're selling all of our inventory and getting out of the schmatta business (although hopefully there will be Challahday pop-ups in the future). Unkosher Market has always been our passion project, and we have so much to be grateful for. But with life getting all mishuga on us lately, we know it's time to blow out the menorah candles (you do that, too right?) and get packing. And we just want to take a moment to thank all of YOU for your support, love, and minimal kvetching along the way.
So please help us get everything out of Bubbie's garage once and for all, and take 70% off everything (minus the nail polish and few other things that we're keeping for ourselves...)
Since we're wrapping up this big chapter in our lives, here's some highlights worth kvellin' about:
- Co-founders Shiran and Alice accidentally creating a viral brand (thank you Guardian) and a life-long friendship.
- Alex Feldman, our Chief Operator and podcast host for managing the day-to-day all while living the brand ethos with her Unkosher escapades.
- Bubbie Roz for shipping our schmattas all over the world. And Aunt Elayne, too.
- Molly for lending her copywriting chops to us when Shiran flat out ran out of Jewish jokes.
- Positive Times for creating Everything Bagel Nail Polish with us (so we can tell our parents we're in The New Yorker!
- Our exhibit at the American Jewish Historical Society with the dating app Bubby that lead to Shiran meeting her now husband Mike.
- All of our artisans, chefs, photographers, models, and vendors for helping us when we didn't know what we were doing.
- Bagels, Schmear, Lox, Pickles, Shakshuka, we truly couldn't have done it without you.
Love,
The Unkosher Team
