🎩 A Little Life Update From the Fab Hatters Workshop 💖
Hi friends!
Just a little heads-up about what’s happening behind the scenes here at Fab Hatters.
Beginning July 17, Grace (the other Fab Hatter!) will be undergoing an incredibly intensive four-stage surgery. I’ll be stepping away from the workshop to become her full-time caregiver while she recovers. We’re hoping it’ll only be about 1–2 weeks of her needing constant care, but recovery timelines can be unpredictable.
💌 Ready-to-ship goodies (like Erstwilder jewelry and other in-stock treasures) will continue shipping as quickly as possible.
🎩 Handmade Fab Hatters creations—our hats, fascinators, wigs, and other handcrafted headwear—may temporarily slow down or pause since every single one is handmade by me.
If you’ve been thinking about ordering a custom or handmade headpiece that you’ll need during the next couple of weeks, we’d recommend placing your order by TODAY July 15.

Our response times may also become a little… delightfully chaotic.
Fab Hatters has always been known for lightning-fast replies (sometimes at wonderfully odd hours 😅), but for the foreseeable future we may occasionally disappear for a few days at a time.
This year has thrown our family quite a few unexpected plot twists.
In June, my dad was diagnosed with dementia. Around the same time, my mum underwent surgery, and we’re currently navigating additional testing after doctors discovered a kidney tumor. We’re hopeful for good news, but we’re still waiting for definitive answers since the testing so far has had conflicting interpretations.
Because of everything happening, my sister and I are trying to spend as much quality time with our parents as we can while they’re still feeling up to adventures. That means we may occasionally take spontaneous family road trips whenever schedules—and last-minute travel deals—line up. (National parks are quickly becoming the family favorite. 🌲)
Some of those places have spotty cell service, so if you message us and don’t hear back right away, we’re probably somewhere admiring giant trees, weird roadside attractions, or waiting for a signal to appear. But we do tend to be back in cell service range when we head back on Sunday afternoons or evenings.

One more update…
In case you were wondering about the fire at our storage facility.
I’m incredibly relieved to say our unit escaped with no fire or smoke damage. 🎉
Some water did make its way into our unit, and the entire floor is damp, so we’ll still be spending time moving inventory, drying everything out, and making sure no mold or mildew decides to become an uninvited business partner. Thankfully, most of our valuable inventory was safely stored in waterproof containers, so things could have been much worse.
⸻
Thank you all for your patience, kindness, and for continuing to support our wonderfully weird little business through all of life’s unexpected plot twists.
Every order, share, comment, and recommendation genuinely helps keep Fab Hatters going while I balance caregiving and creating.
We’ll still be here—just occasionally wearing our caregiver hats instead of our ridiculous ones. ❤️🎩
