2pc set...A dress and trench coat was a special Vintage find for our new CleverGal. It fit her perfectly, she had to take home. The only thing that could make it even more special, it was a gift from her mom. Thanks MOM ❣️

DEALER/VENDOR FRIENDS!

I’m super excited to be partnering with HSSA to offer you a wonderful and rewarding vending opportunity.
The Retro Rescue will kick off its inaugural event March 8&9 at the beautiful new event center located on the campus of the humane society on Roger Road. Along with 12-15 invited vintage dealers, we have lots of fun planned including live entertainment, a vip preview party, senior pet adoptions, activities for the children, food trucks and much more! Spaces are indoors and secured. Each is $50 and two chairs are included. Some have electrical outlets (available on a first come/first served basis). You will be provided with two chairs and a vendor goodie bag! Six foot tables are available to rent for $5 each.
Set up is anytime Friday from 8-3 with the VIP ticketed event to start at 4pm and go til 7. Saturday is free to the public and runs from 10-4. You will have three hours to load out (by 7pm). We can make some accommodations for those who need to finish their load out Sunday morning. Snacks/lunch will be provided to vendors on Saturday.
Vendors will be limited to those who deal in antique and vintage items only. I sincerely hope you’ll accept this invitation to join us. The power of the HSSA marketing team, and our extensive email list and press contacts are sure to generate a fantastic turn out and a fun and rewarding day for all involved.

The Actors Strike is over, but the financial, emotional & psychological affects aren’t. I know some people don’t understand, or choose to ignore. But this is the truth. Imagine being out of work for 7 months?

On the day the strike is seemingly over, I now know at least two colleagues who are selling their houses to try to recover financially from these past 7 months of WGA & SAG/AFTRA strikes. I know four people who returned their cars and watched their credit be ruined for late and missed payments.
Too little too late for many non millionaire union members, small businesses and below the line artists. It went on way too long and damaged too many people. A large group sees today as a Time to rebuild not CELEBRATE. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Our business Clever Vintage Clothing took quite a hit in those 7 months. We’ll be ok. But not everyone will emerge unscathed.

The best way to combat the post Tiki Oasis blues is with a little photo dump! It was so great to spend times with old friends, strengthen bonds, and meet new ones! It was extra exciting to see the growth of our silly little pajama party that started out as 15 people and now is over 50 strong with prizes for best dressed and even a curated cocktail from Tanduay- another fun Clever Vintage Clothing event that couldn’t happen without the generosity of Kris J. Kraus. Our vending booth was packed! And Casey Jones made sure all was well for us in The Marketplace. The Lavender Luau - A Q***r Tiki Group meet up also has grown terrifically too and it’s one of those things I simply can’t miss! And of course playing door man at suite party was a first for me and definitely a highlight! I sure do love my Tiki Ohana and am grateful to get to be a small part of the party.

Today I went WAY out of my comfort zone (Baby-Doe von Stroheim and Alexandra Tyler made me do it! 🤣) to go “live” on Facebook and Instagram to talk about my upcoming seminar on the History of Swimwear at in San Diego on 8/3.
I’m not a technophobe but putting myself out there like that isn’t really my go-to. But I’m just so dang excited for our collaboration between Clever Vintage Clothing and Flash in the Past, and the opportunity to present these rare pieces of beach culture to you!
I think these clips live on for a bit in my stories if you want to check them out. I wish I had been feeling better and that my voice was stronger- but I didn’t cringe too much watching them so I hope you won’t either! 🎥 🌴 👙 ☀️
