It’s funny how things change so rapidly now. Our online distributor, The Orchard, asked us to release a single from our album a few months ago and today is the scheduled release date.
This special little piece, “The Lilacs” by the great Sergei Rachmaninoff is sung in its original Russian language, but we thought we would share the English translation. It seems to have a deeper resonance now...

At the red of the dawn,
O'er the dew spangled lawn,
Where I meet the new day like a kiss,
In the sweet, fragrant shade
By the lilac trees made,
There I wander in search of my bliss…
For one joy, one alone,
Fate has given as mine own,

Did you know that “Lullaby” by Johannes Brahms was written for Clara Schumann who was married to Brahms’ good friend, composer, Robert Schumann? Apparently, Brahms was head over heels with Clara but historians disagree on whether their love was officially requited. There are years of letters between them but because Clara was married, their love was considered taboo.

We think there’s nothing more romantic than composing something beautiful for the ones you love. We wish you all a happy and fulfilling Valentine’s Day!
