Hello friends,
With the ongoing ICE raids across the country, especially in our own backyard (LA), our hearts are aching more than words can describe. 💔
Our very own parents made the courageous decision to cross the border many years ago, leaving everything behind in Mexico in pursuit of a better future. Since their arrival, they have dedicated themselves to providing for our family, ensuring we both (Kathy and Ana) received college educations and built this beautiful legacy, Kathyana. We will never forget the many struggles and sacrifices that our immigrant parents have faced to be able to serve our community through this legacy today.
Kathyana, founded by immigrants and run by immigrants, serves many clients from immigrant families. We cannot remain silent as we witness ICE’s terrorizing actions, including workplace and school visits, criminalization, and family separation.
They seek to instill fear and drive us away. However, we refuse to be silenced or displaced. Latinos are being targeted because we possess immense power, embody the future, and are the fastest-growing demographic in America. We are reshaping the workforce, establishing businesses, and profoundly influencing culture, politics, and the economy.
We are precisely what they dread: a bilingual, brown, and powerful America.
To all those affected by the ICE raids, you are not invisible or alone. You deserve safety, dignity, and the right to live without fear. We stand firmly with our people, advocating for justice and community, now and forever. ✊🏽
