g in the world of fantasy and make-believe. But fantasy became a reality for Ludmila Tomashevskay, the owner of Ludmila Couture. She went from dressing up her dolls to designing clothes for divas. While growing up in Chisinau, Moldova, Ludmila acquired a great passion for fashion and design. As a little girl, she designed clothing for dolls, sewing each outfit by hand. “I used to sew by hand when I was a kid since I didn’t have a sewing machine”- recalls Ludmila. “ I started designing clothes for my own dolls, and soon after, I was dressing all the dolls in the neighborhood”. At the age of 12, Ludmila got her first sewing machine and began making clothes for herself and her friends. She completed her university studies in fashion technology and began working in the industry of her dream as an assistant to a quality control supervisor. Not long after that, her whole family moved to Israel, where she continued her pursuit of a career in fashion, and worked for Gotex - the world leading manufacturer of women’s swimwear. After living in Israel for several years, Ludmila and her 5-year-old son moved to the USA , where they faced lots of hardship, dealing with their new lives as immigrants. The first big investment, of course, was a sewing machine, which became a “bread earner”. To survive, Ludmila worked day and night. After a full day’s work at the tailor shop, she then worked at home, often staying up till 4 o’clock in the morning. Soon, her hardwork and determination paid off and Ludmila started doing various custom jobs for celebrity clients. Now Ludmila has a successful business catering to the fashion stars of Hollywood and the high-end boutiques of Los Angeles and New York. And she has not forgotten her humble beginnings and is devoted fundraiser and supporter of the AMF foundation helping the children of Africa. Ludmila loves her career and living her lifelong dream!!!!!
