All of our T-shirts and hoodies go up to a 5xl and no we won’t charge you more for sizes over an xl. Everyone pays the same price.
Posted • After all the ups and downs over the last few weeks, a moment of reflection.
1. We all deserve to have access to clothes that make us feel good. Plain and simple.
2. When brands and people become distraught and emotional about this simple request, they are revealing their own insecurities. They fear being kicked out of the exclusive club of thinness (and whiteness by default) if they dare give fat people access. This says more about systems of oppression, and individuals blinded by their privilege, than it does about our worthiness or our beauty.
3. Our community may not always agree about what strategies are the best ones to get us not only equal access to clothes, but to a place of collective liberation. This conflict is normal, healthy, and ok. Despite this conflict, the fat community is one of extreme care and softness.
So to brands: listen to Lisa and step up. Now is the time. We are all watching.
