is officially open for business! It has been such a passion project for (’s brother) and (my amazing sister-in-law) and it’s been so cool to see it go from the hard hat phase to this. They saw an opportunity in this 100 year-old bank that was being refurbished and decided to go for it. The two of them have always wanted to own a business together and I’m so proud of what they have already accomplished. It’s the perfect next step after Nicole has really been killing it with weddings. We saw the store in person for the first time yesterday (it opened just 6 days ago) and celebrated the opening last night. It was perfect. If you live in the tristate area and are getting married, THIS is where you’ll find your dress, with the best curation of designers, badass accessories, and private dressing rooms with sitting areas for your friends and family. They are reinventing the wedding dress buying experience, cuz let’s face it - it kinda sucks (rushed appointments, no privacy, limited sizing, etc). Plus, no tax in New Jersey! Book your appointment now too because they are covering your veil or accessory if you buy a dress in the first month.

I’m so proud of you guys. Please let me come work there? I’ll steam dresses or answer the phone...

I’m not always big on celebrating my birthday. It comes up pretty fast after the holidays, when I’m more focused on slowing down and cleaning my house from top to bottom than planning parties. But this year I had a very clear vision of what I wanted to do. It had to include the following:
- Bowling
- My favorite ladies
- Matching jackets
- A 70’s vibe
- Good food and artisanal cocktails

was the place. I got the jackets and had them embroidered with everyone’s names, and assembled some goody bags with tie dyed socks, vintage bowling patches, clear aviators (a la John Goodman in The Big Lebowski), antiqued bandanas (I gave them a vintage look with the leftover dye from the socks), retro candy (did you know they still make Whatchamacallit’s and Bazooka??), and of course, for good measure.

Thanks to the best group of gals for being all in on this vision and the best bowling companions. to our bowling champ of the night . Get ready for this to become an epic weekly league or something. 🎳

Best of all, I felt a new energy in turning 38 which came through strongly in the planning of this shindig for some reason. It’s a clarity. A feeling where I no longer have so many outside factors clouding my judgment of what I want. Paranoias and anxieties. I don’t know if it’s coming of age or if it’s the transition further into motherhood that I went through this year. But I just feel so much clearer on what does and doesn’t serve me and I’m listening to that fully now. It feels good.

Went and did my weigh-in for the challenge this morning. Confession: while I am all in on body positivity and size inclusivity... I am now closing in on 5 years of child bearing, breastfeeding, and interrupted sleep. I’m ready to nourish my body, and make some changes to my own personal story. I’m doing it slow and steady. Don’t expect to see any massive results anytime soon. But I’m ready for the upswing. Let’s do this.

Recently I had the ULTIMATE pleasure of playing dress up with fine jewels at ’s showroom, which was really just a chance to make my lengthy shopping list (hint hint my birthday is next week) and apparently steal some jewels (accidentally went home with all four ear cuffs still on my ears, including Zoe’s personal one - whoopsiiiiiies).
