We often joke about the how our preferences seem to change with age. Sometimes it seems like weā€™re afraid weā€™re turning into our parents, but the truth is that we gradually start to understand them more. Our view is broader, life has been more lived, and if weā€™re lucky weā€™ve become a bit more forgivingā€”for others and hopefully also sometimesā€¦for ourselves. Money is more often spent on things to be experienced rather than things to be owned, and so even we, who are in the business of making & selling things, find ourselves looking to buy less, instead searching for specific things that hopefully will live with us for a long time. Itā€™s not to say we donā€™t still enjoy newness and value creativity, but weā€™ve fallen in love with the idea of something that weathers the test of time, whether in style or quality. Weā€™ve found beauty in the way a thing gains value with wear instead of losing it, how the natural, inevitable changes of a garment, shoe, or accessory tells a story, its own unique identity. Making things you want to wear all the time (and for a long time) is like good cooking - quality ingredients and attention to the small things that make a big difference. Weā€™ve been waiting to release a few new styles for the fall made with some of our favorite fabrics to date. The first item is one many of you are familiar with, the City Shirt, a great drop shoulder slightly crop body button down. For this season we are introducing a pillowy double gauze cotton Japanese flannel. The shirt is light, warm, and feels incredible on the skin, whether worn independently or as a layering piece.

We are also excited to introduce the Elysian Shirt, a new button-down-collar longsleeve, cut with flowing sleeves and a slightly tailored body. Cut in a stunning Japanese shadow plaid, the shirt is a silky, sits handsomely on the shoulders, and feels as amazing as it looks. Intentionally cut slightly bigger for a flowy fit to be worn independently or even as a shirt-jacket. Button down collar also sits smartly beneath any blazer or coat. The Elysian is also available in crisp Japanese typewriter cloth for more dressy occasions and great for pairing with our suiting. The body is slightly cropped to still look neat when worn untucked.
