Catalina Guirado digitally enhances and the original painting ‘Flores Futures’ by Juan Antonio Guirado (1932-2010) part of his environmental art commentary on the imminent destruction of the planet by human kind. In this series Guirado paints a classical study of still life with a vase of flowers against an apocalyptic desert landscape in his signature abstract surreal style. Catalina adds alternative color combinations to create a series inspired by Andy Warhols ‘Flowers’.

Having studied fine art and textile design in London and with a love of bright colors, bold design and being majorly Influenced by Any Warhol and design houses such as Hermes Catalina Guirado has reproduced her late fathers series of paintings ‘Flores del Futures’ painted between 1989-2001 as a collection of Warhol-ask prints in alternative colour combinations from the original turquoise painting. This series looks equally stunning as an individual art print or hung as a triptych. This is the premier collection of fine art prints featuring this design that inspires hope for a beautiful bright world with its vase of colorful flowers set on a desolate landscape.

From DAY to NIGHT! I Curated a new collection of Stunning original paintings by Juan Antonio Guirado in my living room. With the addition of new spot lights I can now start the spring season of Guirado cocktail viewing nights and share some of these collectible works for sale in the comfort of a home setting. I feel it’s sometimes better to show the art in a home setting so a collector can see how it looks and how it is lived with. This is an incredible black and white negative style painting in oil on paper, 2001
This painting shows the incredible talent of Guirado whose manipulation of the paint and his mastery of his unique technique creates a painting that literally glows. You can see form the day to night photos that this does not need a light on the painting to create this effect. No wonder the head of the museum of modern art in Madrid recognised Guirado as a major talent in 1976 and bought two works that are now in the Reina Sofia museum Madrid. . Considered one GUIRADO’s finest paintings ‘Madonna de Bosnia’ was painted in 1989 and shows a mother cradling her child to protect it from the evils of war. The blue aura surrounding the mother is symbolism of the blue light that is always depicted around the Madonna ( Virgin Mary) in renaissance paintings. I’m this case the painting is referring to the plight of the people in war torn Bosnia from 1992-1995. Much Of GUIRADO’s work is political and a criticism of world leaders and the destruction of the planet and humanity . The war led to the deaths of around 100,000 people. It also spurred the genocide of at least 80 percent Bosnian Muslims, also called Bosniaks. Limited edition Prints and and NFTs are now available from the Guirado Legacy gallery shop LINK IN PROFILE .
