What started out as a hobby making women's shoes back in 2004 all changed when baby Gabriel Gutsell, aka "Gabe the Babe" came along in 2012. Gg Bébé shoes are designed using soft leathers and fabrics to allow precious little feet the full range of movement so that they can grow and develop as nature intended. Each pair of shoes is hand lasted around cushioned insoles and finished off with soles ma

de of stylish tan leather or non-slip Vibram rubber. The principal style is the "Gabe the Babe" high-top however there are seasonal variations depending on his sartorial/practical requirements. The designs have been road tested by Gabe the Babe himself so he can vouch for the quality and durability! The Gg Bébé baby changing clutch bag is a stylish yet practical alternative to the traditional oversized changing bag. It is an envelope clutch bag with an external hand strap so that it rests comfortably in your hand when carrying. The bag has room inside to carry wipes, nappies and disposable bags and also folds out into a wipe clean nappy changing mat (made of oilcloth). Both are ideal gifts for baby showers or new arrivals.

I made this style of bag with a leftover piece of leather as I needed something small to take away on a weekend (which is why I named it after myself!).

This is the same style but in a gorgeous white & silver horse hair leather.

I made the pieces into a tote bag for his teacher’s end of year gift.

As is often the case, I didn’t have time to take any stylish photos 🙄🤪, so here is the front & back view on my cutting mat, and a shot of the jigsaw puzzle mid-planning phase.

While I mostly work with leather, I do also use other materials.

I sometimes upcycle old jeans and am working on dyeing my son’s old karate suits (watch this space…).

And, sometimes I just treat myself to some really cool fabric I can’t resist. I’ve used this star printed cotton/denim mix in a lot of pieces and am coming to the end of what I have. (I love ⭐️!).

Here it is in action with a couple of leather 💕 on the drawstring.
