Most of y’all have seen this on Insta but thought I’d post here too…
| THE END OF A CHAPTER. | Hey friends, it’s Logan at BLōFISH. Hope you all are well. Unfortunately I have some news. I have come to the decision to close our store in NULU.
There are many, but two big reasons. One, economics. Unfortunately the area just isn’t the same since the pandemic. It probably never was the best place in Louisville to be, but I enjoyed being downtown trying to make the city cool. The people and stores have also changed. We’ve lost a lot of the older local spots, and with Scout being replaced by a liquor store, our end of the block still hasn’t recovered. Those experiencing houselessness that became a part of our community have moved on, and those who have replaced them are destructive, especially since the liquor store opened. Y’all have heard me opine what I think the city is doing wrong repeatedly with the area as far as real estate goes, so I’ll refrain here. The reality is, many factors have added up and we aren’t making money like we used to in NULU.
Two, is my personal health. After working non-stop over the past 7 years, and almost 10 total on the company, I need to reevaluate where I’m at in life. This place has given me some of the most amazing relationships in my life and I wouldn’t trade those for the world, but it also has taken many things away. With the long hours and stress of keeping it rolling all these years, doing Airbnb and other things to make money on top of BLōFISH to live off since the pandemic, gradually and especially the last year, I lost myself and happiness, which ultimately led to this decision.
I think this is a good time to thank everyone who helped the brand get here, even if it’s not the end. (continued below)
