Medicine Wheel is located at 9,642 feet in the Bighorn Mountains in north-central Wyoming. This National Historic Landmark sits on a plateau about 30 miles east of Lovell, Wy and 12 miles south of the Montana border. It is an enduring Native American ceremonial ground. The Medicine Wheel was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1970.

Ever visited Soldier Park in the Cloudpeak Wilderness, Bighorn Mtns? Interestingly, the park isn't named after a military soldier's grave. Instead, it's home to the gravesite of Pete Garde, a French civil engineer who was accidentally shot and buried around 1877. Another grave belongs to Carl Johnson, a Swedish tie-hacker who died of a heart attack in 1922.

Have you ever visited Kirwin, Wyoming? Located in the Shoshone National Forest near Meeteetse, this ghost town was a booming gold and silver mining camp in the early 1900s. Following an avalanche in 1907, the town was mostly deserted. Now, it's a hotspot for off-roaders and history buffs, featuring well-preserved buildings and a fascinating link to Amelia Earhart, who was constructing a cabin there at the time of her disappearance in 1937.
