Some ask… why do I neuter my sugar glider boys?

**** i will do rights on them for breeding if bred to another lineaged glider. But not all gliders need to be bred.****

Great question!

Several reasons…some are….

*It can be hard to find a vet and can cost a bunch to neuter. Some Times more than the glider cost. I pay for it and I go thru the heal Time so u don’t have to.

*my gliders are lineaged and I personally don’t promote breeding to unlineaged Gliders. Tho, the sugar glider population is larger, I don’t see why we would risk in breeding or just breeding to see what happens.

*the males have a more of a musty smell when intact, neutering helps since we are removing the hormones, the scent glands then reduce/stop producing.

There’s more but I’ll leave it with that for now 😁

Something kind of fun that I was thinking about today….

 Also, makes me very grateful to the Lord who provides and to H-E-B, that has a great produce and frozen sections.

 How much do you think I spend yearly just on the veggie mix alone?

Not the other veggies and fruits or ingredients I add to the daily diet…..solely this veggies mix.

Person who guesses closest to the amount within $10 not going over will get a fun sugar glider gift from me.

🤣🤣 you may want to turn down volume. He had a lot to say. His fur on head is starting to grow back but I’m still watching to see if the grooming is continuing down the back. He’s warm and has a full belly, the pair just seems insecure. 1st time parents can be tricky and this pair is still trying to figure it out. Both babies look good over all

What do you use if your power goes out for light? I just ordered some for my sugar gliders area, but wondered what you all use.

I’ll let you know how I like them, when they come in. I lost power while feeding the gliders one night and had to use hand held lights, it worked but I felt I need a better solution.

What’s an accident that resulted either an injury to your sugar glider or leading up to it passing?

 This type of information is really good for new owners, who are trying to learn from honest input….

 I’ll start some of mine. It’s been 10+ years, so I’ve had several things happen but a couple that stand out. These were several years ago but traumatic…

*my cat got one of my sugar gliders and resulting in him passing immediately, even tho it was one puncture to the side skin.

*a sugar glider got out from a cage door being open and passed from falling in water. I was asleep and didn’t know. It was so awful.

*a recluse spider bit one of my Joey gliders and it passed with in 12 hours.

Looks like Tranport picks up from me on 7/4/2026 for one of them…going west coast then east coast then south. We have ones waiting to be picked that can be added to the route!

2nd Tranport still waiting for dates but it’s more Midwest and east bound- but we can still get you on that one too!
