Illustration of a guitar player just having fun making music, being playful. I was talking with my sister and the idea of Stay Playful was key about what I’m trying to inspire through the artwork. While I was describing what I wanted to convey I said things like “keep a child’s mindset to discover, to explore, to create.” Being playful was a key to that concept. And then my sister said “Stay Playful”, and I was like that’s perfect!

DJ illustration and process video.
When I was about 6 years old I remember my brother showing me how he counts “1,2,3,4” when mixing. To this day I believe that’s how I learned rhythm and when my interest in music grew even more. Watching a DJ focused on beat matching, looking through vinyls (yes, a long time ago) , and seeing how music moved people at a party was so friggin cool. DJs are dope. Thank you, DJs.

Guitar Angel illustration and process video. This artwork was inspired by my alternative rock days. Nowadays I pick up the guitar to play some blues, or at least I try my best to do so lol. It’s funny that I play blues but end up listening to electronic music or something totally different when I draw.

Music Traveler illustration and process video. While drawing this I remembered when I was a kid riding my bike to get around, learning to play guitar, and my brother programming drum loops to jam at parties. And when DAWs were accessible, my mind was blown by what was possible with a midi controller or just the computer keyboard.
