LET'S GET KENNEDY A KIDNEY!!!!
I know there are so many people in our community who have followed her journey. Kennedy was born with a rare condition call bladder exstrophy. She is currently in Stage FIVE of renal failure and is in desperate need of a kidney. As many of you know, I went through some exstensive testing back in March, April & May and was a match. Our surgery is coming up on November 5th.
While I personally have a shorter recovery time, Kennedy's will be a little more exstensive. Kennedy has preop November 1st and I have preop November 4th. The surgery will be Tuesday, November 5th. I will be in the hospital 3 additional days and then must live in Jacksonville within 20 minutes of the Mayo Clinic for an additional week. Kennedy will be in the hospital for a week and then must live in Jacksonville within 20 minutes of the Mayo Clinic for an additional 30-45 days. The costs of travel, lodging, food and things not covered by insurance will need to be covered. Additionally, Kennedy will need to pay her portion of medication not covered by insurance.
